Account Types¶
Before you start¶
Please ensure you are familiar with Account Type Classes before reading this article. Account Type Classes serve as the parent categories for account types within Paperwork.
This article provides insights into the Account Types table within References.
Account Types are categorised under Account Type Classes. For example, the Account Type Class might be "Expenses", which feeds into the child Account Type "Costs".
Understanding Account Types¶
Account Types in Dsposal's Paperwork include the following information:
- Account Type Name: The name of the account type, providing a descriptive label for identification.
- Account Type Class: The parent account type class from which the account type inherits its classification, as defined in Account Type Classes.
- Archived Status: Indicates whether the account type is archived or active.
- Actions: Dropdown menu providing options to manage the account type.
Adding an Account Type¶
- Click on the "Add Account Type" button.
- Enter the Account Type Name in the provided field.
- Select the appropriate Account Type Class from the dropdown menu.
- Click "Submit" to save the new account type.
Managing Account Types¶
Organisations can manage Account Types by:
- Adding new account types: Represent specific financial accounts within the defined account type classes.
- Editing existing account types: Update information such as account type names or archival status.
- Archiving account types: Mark account types that are no longer in use or relevant to streamline the list and improve usability within Paperwork.
