Hazard Property Codes

Before you start

This article delves into the HP codes available across different modules within Dsposal's Paperwork. HP Codes are defined by the Waste Framework Directive, meaning they cannot be updated, modified or changed.

What is an HP code?

Hazard Property Codes (HP Codes) serve to identify the potential risks associated with waste materials, guiding their safe transportation and handling protocols. These codes are mandated by law for waste shipments and aid disposal sites in effectively managing the waste. Hazardous waste encompasses materials exhibiting any of the 15 specified hazardous properties outlined in Annex III. Compliance with these regulations is determined by the List of Wastes Decision. There are 15 total HP codes.
